This Sunday a new project designed using our Activate process will be live tested in Dudley. Gather Sunday is an idea developed by Stu Homer and Loraine Stockton, the team behind Gather Dudley.

Gather Sunday is a monthly invitation for people to come together and share food, music and friendship. The project team particularly want to welcome people who are homeless and families in vulnerable situations, along with anyone who likes the idea of communal meal. Everyone can contribute and all contributions will be valued, from helping make food, spreading the word, welcoming / hosting, providing entertainment or art, bringing food to share or helping clear up.

Gather Sunday will take place for the very first time this Sunday, 23 October, from 11am. Do help spread the word, or get yourself along to experience and contribute to this growing collaborative culture which welcomes and values everybody. From 11am at Gather, 65 Hight Street, Dudley (next door to the Post Office).

Next week will see the full opening of the Gather coffee shop, a ‘funky and ethical hive of inspiration’ in the heart of Dudley. Expect a friendly welcome and great coffee, and check out the upcycled furniture -including a piano beautifully decoupaged with sheet music and chair covers cleverly made from sweaters and t-shirts, complete with collars and pockets!

An experiment in co-creating a day of food, music and friendship
